About Your First Visit
To Inspire Dental of Alexandria
First Dental Visit & Dental Exam
We’re excited that you’re here and ready to get your healthy smile on! Rest assured we’re in this together, and our job is to keep you smiling every step of the way!
COVID Protocol
Please come at your scheduled time. Appointment times have been staggered to allow for physical distancing. This helps us keep the patient flow working so we avoid people grouping in the waiting area or in corridors.
Please wear a mask until seated in the exam room. The CDC recommends masks be worn in medical facilities for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people.
Your temperature will be taken at Check-in. We will also ask you a few screening questions. We ask that you please reschedule your appointment if you have a temperature over 100.4F.
We a have number of filters in office designed for COVID. This helps keeps the air fresh and germ free.
We thoroughly disinfect at the start of the day and after each patient.
We will be wearing additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This may include gowns & masks and face shields depending on the type of appointment.
Check-in
We ask that you come in 15 minutes before your appointment, so you have time to complete your paperwork.
Our Patient Coordinator will get you started on your new patient paperwork. Existing patients will verify their details on file. Our new system provides you access to your details in addition to allowing you to make payments online.
Or save time and do your paperwork online
Access your new patient paperwork now. By filling out your forms now, you can save time in the office later.
What should I bring with me?
- Dental X-rays from the last six months. We can take X-rays if you don’t have them.
- Your medical and dental history information, including any medications you’re taking.
- Your dental insurance card (if you have insurance).
- Your parent if you’re under 18 (or if you’re over 18, but just want the company).
During the Visit
You will meet with your dentist to talk about your medical history. Share any oral health worries or fears with the doctor. Your comfort is most important, so we encourage you to ask questions.
Next, your dentist will likely examine your teeth, gums, and mouth, and take x-rays and/or panoramic radiographs.
Then, the comprehensive exam will be completed by your dentist, who will check for things like tooth decay, gum disease, and other things that can affect not just your mouth, but your overall health. Then you’ll talk together about any treatments you might benefit from.
When Treatment is Needed
After your comprehensive exam, should you need treatment you will be introduced to our Treatment Coordinator. Together you will customize a treatment plan, set the expectation(s) of the next visit(s), and confirm you completely understand all treatment. Our goal is to address all your questions and concerns and determine a financial plan that fits most comfortably in your lifestyle.
