We Work with Your PPO Insurance

Our practice understands how uneasy it can be to deal with insurance. We perform insurance verification on your behalf on a complimentary basis. Our staff will happily help you with pre-treatment estimates and we can process the necessary forms for your dental benefits. Dental insurance is intended to cover a portion of your treatment amount.

The amount covered by insurance varies widely from plan to plan. In most cases, you are responsible for a deductible amount each year, and that amount is not paid by your insurance plan. Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made with our Treatment Coordinator. Your co-pay and deductible will be collected at the time of your visit.

We ask that you bring any insurance information with you to your first visit.

About Dental Insurance

Dental insurance can be confusing, but we'll make it easy for you.

  • Dental insurance is diverse. Some policies cover only a small percentage of fees, while others cover 50 percent or greater. The more you or your employer pays for premiums, the better the coverage, in most cases.
  • For the most part, dental insurance covers preventive procedures, including annual X-rays, two cleanings and checkups per year, and fluoride treatments at 100 percent. Restorative care, such as fillings, crowns, replacement teeth, orthodontics. are often partially covered.
  • Cosmetic treatment is rarely covered. We work with third party financing companies to make dentistry affordable for virtually all our patients.
  • Most dental insurances also carry a "missing tooth clause." The clause states that your insurance will not pay for replacement of a tooth or teeth that were missing before your policy began. Our third-party financing companies can help you afford dental implants, partials, dentures, or bridgework.
  • Your benefits are probably based on "usual, customary, and reasonable fees." These fees may not accurately reflect the cost of quality service. We offer a relaxed and soothing environment with the latest technologies to make your dental care experience comfortable. We invest time with each of our patients. To us, you are a person, not a number or a chart. Our dentists and our team invest in more continuing education than is required so that we can bring you the best dental care possible. The fees considered reasonable and customary by your insurance provider probably do not reflect the type of care and service we consider standard.
  • Your "yearly maximum" is the amount your insurance company will pay in a calendar year. Usually, the amount is $1,000. If you do not use all of your yearly maximum before December 31st, you lose it. Each new calendar year, your maximum will fund again.
  • Our team will provide all paperwork, charts, X-rays, and photos necessary to optimize your benefits when we file your claim. If your insurance provider does not pay their estimated portion, we will bill you for the balance.

5 star

My family has been seeing Dr. White through more than a decade of teeth cleanings, tooth injuries, teeth grinding, cavities, caps, root canal... you name it. The office is 30 minutes away but we wouldn't consider another dentist office. It's not just that Dr. White is a great professional, it's that he and his family run a great office. Scheduling, insurance, hygienists, hours -- everything about interacting with them is first rate.Everybody is knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. They take major insurance, and have even given me advice on which options to select. ...and Dr. White is a big Nats fan, which is a bonus in my book any day.
